SAMPLING, ANALYSIS, and CERTIFICATES

DRY & LIQUID
BULK CARGO

Our samplers are well trained to sample a variety of cargo during loading or discharge. These samples are split and composited as required. Dry bulk cargo samples can be taken by a variety of methods, including an Extended 500ml Sampler or sample probes.

Samples can be tested for bulk densities, granularity, and moisture content.

Liquid bulk cargo samples are taken with a compositing bottle over the full tank height or a zone sampler for top and/or full bottom samples.

Once taken, the individual samples can be proportionally composited, bottled, and prepared for shipment to a specified laboratory. Specific Gravity and pH of samples can be immediately determined in our field laboratories.

MINERAL CONCENTRATES

We host a mineral concentration laboratory in the Port of Portland. With this intricate machinery, we are able to determine pre-loading moistures, provide comprehensive composite samples, identify transportable moisture limits (TML) for shipping, and flow point data. In addition, we can prepare sample shipments for assay testing.

3RD PARTY LOADING SUPER-INTENDENT

Comprehensive electronic updates & reports with dedicated attendance while vessel is loading and berthed alongside.

RAILCAR TO CONTAINER TRANS-LOADING

Inspection of the trans-loader and surrounding areas is done to ensure it was blown down and run out. All containers are checked internally and externally to achieve freedom from previous cargoes and foreign materials. Containers are additionally inspected to verify ventilators are not obstructed by tape.

Bulkheads made of steel pipe and cardboard are affixed to the container and decorated with dessicant bags to ensure limited moisture buildup.

Rail cars are inspected externally for contaminants prior to commencement of cargo transfer; cargo surface inspection from the top of the hopper is also performed.
